All you New York haters don’t have to hate on Jersey, there’s a good chance we’ve all been there before.
Even out of towner, don’t let the show “Jersey Shore”, give you such an idea about the entire state.
New Jersey is one of the most populated and wealthiest states to live in. There are houses that can go for acres and land taxes that will be many dollars every year.
Sure there are some neighborhoods that are more “party” than others. There is something for everyone, and prime time to go is in the summer!
Memorial Day kicks off the shore season. Here are some best known beaches to check out:
Disclaimer : Renting beach houses is much more common than hotels or motels. They tend to book up!
Ortley Beach, Seaside Heights, Seaside Park
Seaside Heights is where the show was filmed, yet it gained a lot of poularity for tourists and newcomers. The surrounding beaches are more low key, more family oriented, and still have beach bars and surf clubs. Plus, you can see the t-shirt store where the store was filmed if that’s something you want to do.
Long Beach Island
This is an 18 mile island with the most hopping beach towns – Surf City, Ship Bottom and Beach Haven. It’s becoming more and more popular as nearby individuals want to try something different than Seaside Heights. Many families come here every year for vacations within NJ. A cool thing to do is visit the Barnegat Lighthouse State Park and go to the top!
The mini Las Vegas in our nation is in NJ. Casinos and hotel suites line the boardwalk with shops and restaurants. It’s cheaper to come here Monday through Thursday and you will find it’s busy as the weekend is.
More of a young 20’s party beach city, may continue to rent houses and go out here. The boardwalk is open year round! Summer, traffic gets big so leave super early to get here. One of the famous spots to go party at is – DJ’s!
Ocean City and Wildwood
These neighborhoods and beach towns are at the end of Jersey, maybe 1/2 – 1 hour ride after Atlantic City, depending on traffic. There’s many camping grounds and cabins to rent instead of doing a beach house! You need a car to get around and the boardwalk goes on for miles. Lots of amusement parks and chances to get piercings or tattoos here too!
Are you going on a Jersey adventure this summer?
