During my stay in Curaçao, I dove A LOT! How could I not? Anyone who is an obsessed scuba diver tries to go diving as much as they can while leaving time to do other activities.
Through renting my tanks to go shore diving and going on a boat dive, I used Go West Diving, located in the northwest region of Curaçao. They were only a 5 minute drive from where I stayed – the Blue View apartments, which made it very convenient.
Their dive shop is located on the beach of Playa Kalki – a beautiful, turquoise and white sand beach! They have a restaurant for snacks and drinks along with a dock where the dive boat picks you up. Access to dive their home reef – Alice in Wonderland – is right off the dock as well. Beautiful corals mixed in with a celebratory drink – why not?
Renting scuba tanks for shore diving with a buddy was only $32 per day with weights included! That meant unlimited diving and refills!
I went for a 2 tank boat dive as well which was only $89 plus tax – pretty good for the Caribbean!
I dove with Go West Diving on a Monday and visited the sites of Rediho and Elvin’s Plane Wreck – an Antillean plane that sunk in the 1970’s. The staff were super friendly, very precise in their briefings, and the boat had enough space for everyone! Both dive sites were great regarding visibility and marine life – we saw a turtle, eels, manta rays, tons of fish, beautiful corals, and dropping mountains underwater.
Here are some pictures from the trip, not to mention a great view of the island of Curaçao from the water!
Have you dove in Curaçao? Which sites did you visit?
