Jacksonville is the biggest city in Florida, and a perfect retreat for beach goers, culture buffs, golfers, and even those on business. Jacksonville not only offers a range of activities in its downtown area, but also has a variety of hotels for an enjoyable holiday or business trip. There are hotels catered to every budget imaginable, which makes planning easier than for other cities. Here are a few of the top boutique-style hotels to stay in when visiting Jacksonville.
1. Near Shopping
Looking to splurge on a shopping trip in sunny Florida? Stay at the Hampton Inn Jacksonville South/I-95 at JTB, where prices start around $110 per night. You will be located close to the St. Johns Town Center, where you can shop and dine all day and into the late night. To help you save all your money for your shopping spree, the hotel offers complimentary breakfast. There’s also an outdoor pool if you don’t want to go to the beaches.
2. Intimate & Historic
One of the smallest inns around Jacksonville, the Riverdale Inn offers luxury rooms right downtown. These rooms are exclusive, as there are only 10 in total, and they’re located in an old mansion that has been modernized. The hotel offers made-to-order breakfast, plus there’s a tea room and pub on-site. For a romantic night, book the Windsor Suite, which is equipped with a Jacuzzi tub for two. For the luxury and history offered here, prices begin at $140 per night.
3. Extras Included
Whether you are in Jacksonville for a short or a long period of time, the rooms at the Scottish Inn Jacksonville Downtown have a lot to offer at very low rates. For as low as $45 per night, you can get a cozy room, access to the outdoor pool, a refrigerator and microwave (on request), a complimentary breakfast, and free parking. Located on the edge of the downtown area, this hotel is slightly removed from the hustle and bustle but still close to the action.
4. Super Budget
The best budget hotel you can find in Jacksonville is the Stars Rest Inn, starting at only $40 per night for a room. Up to two children 18 and younger can stay for free in a room with a parent or guardian. Not only is the Stars Rest Inn very low priced, but it also offers plenty of activities to keep you busy. There is a pool, pool tables, barbecue facilities, and a gazebo to lounge in. The hotel is pet-friendly, but be sure to notify them in advance if you’ll be bringing a fury friend along.
5. Riverfront Accommodations
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Jacksonville Riverfront sits on the banks of the St. Johns River. Not only can you enjoy the ambiance of the river from your private balcony, but you are located right in the heart of San Marco. Here, you can experience different art galleries, historical museums, and nearby Jacksonville Landing, a shopping, cultural, and entertainment complex. Deals can be found for under $100 per night depending on the season.
Jacksonville continues to grow as a city for travelers. While there are many more hotels, these five are among the best boutique hotels, and offer a well-rounded list of options and amenities.
