Playing with Hermit Crabs in Maldives

Back at my honeymoon spot in Maldives, there existed an animal that was cute, entertaining, and special.

No it was not a flamingo or a dolphin, but tons of hermit crabs!

On the east side of Meeru, lived many hermit crabs. They did not take up the entire beach, but a section in between the Adult Pool and the beach bungalows.

There must have been trillions of hermit crabs. The best part was picking them up and having them walk all over your hands.

If you find a hermit crab, leave it in its shell. They live in empty shells until they outgrow them. Then, they move onto bigger shells.

If you accidentally bring one home, take the shell to the beach. The hermit crab should survive then at its best.

Sometimes an animal you do not expect, ends up being the most fun!
