Touring the Pier at Fort Lauderdale-by-the-sea

If you can, I highly recommend you visit Fort Lauderdale-by-the-sea. Never have I been until last month.

This part of the neighborhood is north of Las Olas Boulevard by about 20 minutes in the car. It has a more relaxed feel with small condominiums and gated communities near the sea. There is no longer a view of downtown Fort Lauderdale but you can see up to Pompano Beach, which is the next town over.

There are a few beachfront dining options. My favorite was Aruba’s on the Beach, which is how I came to this part of town to begin with!

Aruba’s has a full menu and multiple bars. The Mahi Mahi tacos are delicious and look how big they come. Drinks are top nosh and inexpensive.

There are other restaurants nearby as well as cute seating areas. These ship benches are cute, I really want one in my future yard!

A lovely attraction at Fort Lauderdale-by-the-sea is this pier.

You can enter it for $2 and go fishing, take a tour of the mini museum like setting indoors of previous catch and endeavors, or just take in the views.

The pier is long and you can see through the water clearly. Many fish come near and they are described as you walk down the pier.
