One of the best attractions in St. Bart’s is the famous Shell Beach.
One of only four shell beaches in the entire world, this is a destination to add to your list.
How to Get There
Arriving by ferry into St. Bart’s is fairly easy and provides the shortest distance to Shell Beach. Walk along the waterfront in Gustavia and find the entrance to Shell Beach at the corner of Rue de la Palge and Rue des Normands.
If you enter by plane into the airport, grab a taxi to the beach or rent a vehicle. It is less than 15 minutes away and parking on the street is easy and free.
What to Do
The most common activity is to go shell collecting. There are millions of shells at Shell Beach. If you do not collect them, at least pick them up to feel them and take a close up look at their beautiful shapes and sizes.
When your hunger kicks in or you want a break from the sun, grab some food and drinks at Do Brazil, the on-site restaurant.
If you are super adventurous, go cliff diving. I did not see any while I was there, but I know it is possible.
The weekends are the best time to visit this beach and then enjoy the social festivities downtown.
